Open Opportunity –Advancing Democratic Goals and Strengthening of Democratic Institutions

NED funds only nongovernmental organizations, which may include civic organizations, associations, independent media, and other similar organizations.
NED encourages applications from organizations working in diverse environments including newly established democracies, semi-authoritarian countries, highly repressive societies and countries undergoing democratic transitions.
NED does not make grants to individuals, governmental bodies, or state-supported institutions such as public universities.

Open call for project proposals -Tadamon Crowdfunding Academy in Somalia

The Tadamon Crowdfunding Academy is an e-learning and digital classroom program carried out in partnership with the Kaya platform and local crowdfunding experts fromSimad University and the Kaal Somalia.
Selected CSOs will develop their crowdfunding campaign through e-learning tools and offline training using learning materials and presentations, work assignments, and guidance from leading crowdfunding experts.

CALL FOR EAST AFRICAN YOUTH PROPOSALS – African World Heritage Day 2021

In Celebration of African World Heritage Day on 5 May 2021, and in the framework of the African Union Year 2021 for “Arts, Culture and Heritage: Levers for Building the Africa We Want”, UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa in partnership with UNESCO National Commissions in the region and the African World Heritage Fund are launching an open competition for youth, aged 18 to 35 years, in all 13 countries covered by the UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa (Comoros, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda) to develop a project proposal for raising awareness and engagement of youth in the protection and promotion of African World Heritage. The deadline for applications is 31 May 2021.

Calls for proposals- Youth led CSOs and CSOs working with young people in peace promotion

The United Nations Alliances of Civilizations (UNAOC) through their Youth Solidarity Fund(YSF) invites youth-led CSOs with particular emphasis on those working with peace promotion and activities related to preventing violent extremism. Somali CSOs who are registered and have been operational for a minimum of two years are eligible to receive seed funds.

Call for proposals for NGOs on Promoting universal Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) of vulnerable adolescents in Africa

The European Unions Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development (DG- DEVCO) has opened up calls for grant applications for NGOs working on SRHR in Sub-Saharan Africa. Somali CSOs can provided that they cooperate with NGOs in other African Countries be eligible for grants.
